well, red!

first go as well. there is an awful lot of foam and fizz in the tubes again- wonder if it is the inflammation that is making the blood fizz and foam in the tube?

they tried to cancel my appt this afternoon and just give a prescription for the new medication but i have had a red boots moment and put my foot down with a firm handWink Blink Confused BigGrin

lol

i might even get her to count the peaks on my new mountain range on me knuckles and the lumps elsewhere.....!ThumpUp she is not my usual GP, lets see how scared she looks when I reel off me impressive medical ABC BINGO list!

saw pretty useless GP who agreed I had lumps, my RA is very active and she will let rheumatology know that things are hard for the RA. Conversation went a bit like this

perhaps ask rheummy when you see him about the lumps- have you got a nurse to ring or something?

yes Jenni, the inflammation is high, very high- oh my word it IS high! Perhaps we had best arrange for further bloods- oh yes, we have done some this morning I see.

anyway- seeing the rheumatologist next month and you are on azothyaprin so its not as if you are not being treated is it? Oh I have been reading about the addisons disease, sounds serious are you seeing someone as some of these results are just not right.

Which ones?

well, your salts are in your boots and some other err well, you need a specialist really- when is your own GP coming back? They are asking me to prescribe fluocortisone as well as hydrocortisone and about an IM emergency pack. I dont know anything about this, do you?

Jenni Mutters under breath (come back dr M PLLLLLEEEEEEAAAAAAASE)

GP begrudging pokes the variety of lumps and says the hands look very rheumatoid for a woman my age and then sends me off.

good grief I am past caring,

these God awful people drive me insane.

I'm speechless Jenni!
She hasn't even prescribed the drugs they asked her to?
Has she just ignored the bit about giving you an emergency pack?
She should be struck off.

I just can't get my breath Jenni - I don't know how you carry on. Is it early next month you see the rheumy - if not, I think you will need to get in touch with them yourself and ask to be seen earlier - seeing as GP is clearly not up to it. Hope Richard is ok. He must be soooo angry. Thinking of you and hoping someone will listen.

Richard is home and has had a go, he was very polite but very firm and refused to leave without prescription for the fluocortisone at least.

the prescribing specialist manager at the practice is going to ring the hospital (not me ringing the hospital notice) and get the right idea about the drugs and the emergency pack.

I wont be seeing THAT Gp again.

I hate all this. Im going to see the rheummy next month, I will take mega pain relief til then. Will be interested if I get called in again over the bloods.
I dont know what has upset me really, its just they do not care and that makes me cross.

anyway.

trying to keep positive and chin up,

You have every right to be upset Jenni.
You don't deserve to be treated (or not treated) like this.
You rely on these people to look after you and they just don't give a damn.
I'm so glad Richard got your prescription.

Lots of love and hugs,
Doreen xx

Jenni

So sorry to learn of the problems with your GP surgery. At times I think, for the main part, they just don't understand the first thing about RA. But of course that is no help when you are experiencing such harsh difficulties.

I have a lovely GP who looks after me really well. When he doesn't have an answer he finds out. Guess I'm lucky Smile
So glad you have such a lovely partner to help you alongThumpUp

Take care Jenni,

Jenni, no wonder you are angry I'm sitting here steaming mad about what you've had to go through to get a prescription and I do hope the drug helps and that you feel some relief very soon.
Whilst my own GP surgery is good at fitting me in if things are dire, its always with someone different and I've only just learnt to check what they prescribe after an incident with giving me an anitbiotic that I should'nt have had with the other things I take. Why don't they at least look up the basics if they are not sure.
In addition when my bloods are all wrong the GP rings me and asks me to ring the rheumy advice line. I found out yesterday from the hospital that the GP can ring the hosptial and speak to the rheumy directly to get advice on what to do, rather than me passing messages back and forth. Surely this is part of their job.
I do hope things improve for you and that you don't have this dreadful hassle again, its the last thing you need when you feel so unwell.
With love and best wishes that things improve for you.
